Welcome back! I took a month-long hiatus for a much needed break, but mainly because I was moving. 😛 Now that I’m settled in, I will be posting much more while getting ready for J-1 Con (September 14) and starting up my freelance business again. The first thing I’m adding to my creative service list is Digital Avatar Illustration. This will be a cool addition for anyone looking to spice up their avatars for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. The official post will come once I get it all together, hopefully this week. More updates will come through my Newsletter this month. Sign up here –> http://eepurl.com/ST_J9

When this happened, I was SOOOO EXCITED! Th artwork above was reposted on their social media accounts a few months ago. I found I had won an autograph for my art through No Doubt’s official Twitter account (https://twitter.com/nodoubt/status/390961954170216448/photo/1). It’s a really cool thing they do with their fans’ artwork. If you tag your fan art with #NDArt, they will repost it, get your info, and send your work to you autographed by them! I’ve been a fan of No Doubt since ‘Tragic Kingdom’ and I am still determined to meet them someday.
I remember when my mother bought the ‘Tragic Kingdom’ CD in 1996 at the Virgin Megastore in New York. I loved going to record and cd stores and listen to new music. It was a great day because I normally never got anything. My mother was very cautious about what I should and shouldn’t listen to. She actually banned my brother and I from listening to Rage Against the Machine and other bands! It was a good thing when I think back because I was encouraged to listen to positive messages in music.
Anywho, hopefully I can make more art that features No Doubt and Gwen Stefani. Since it’s convention season I could make them into superheroes! We’ll see. 🙂
It’s that time again! Convention Time! This year will be a great one considering that I want to put my best work out there. As you can see from this post and previous ones, I am a fan of Doctor Who. I started to watch the new series that featured Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper on Netflix. At first glance the show was hilarious. I loved the suspense, the story, the effects, and the overall campy tone of the show. By the end of the first season, I was sad to see Eccleston go. But since then and his regeneration into David Tennant, I have been a fan ever since.
At any rate, comic conventions are really fun and I hope to attend a few more than I did last year. It’s big mix of everything: cosplay, amazing art, and you can even meet your favorite actors at some cons. My favorite con so far has been Baltimore Comic Con. Wizard World comes in at a close second since it’s a 4 day event and I always become so attached to the atmosphere.
Until then, I will be preparing to bring more work to the masses! If you have been to a comic con recently or in the past, which one was your favorite?
