I know this would have been around the time I announced my convention appearances but this year, I’ve decided to take a break since I have personal commitments to take care of. If you truly know me, you already know how excited I am about it. #VagueBlogging 😜
Happy International Women’s Day! These phenomenal women are only a short list of my inspirations! Top left to right: Nichelle Nichols of Star Trek with a way too excited fan (me), Tina Modotti, Ariell Johnson of Amalgam Comics & Coffeehouse, Faith Ringgold, Celia Cruz, and Lee Krasner!
Hey folks! I know it’s been a while since life is happening. 😛 I recently finished a Star Trek commission for an amazing fan! I did this piece for Lady J Cosplay after meeting her at the Great Philadelphia Comic Con. She’s such an awesome Uhura! This piece will be sent out this week and I’m so glad she likes it!

It finally came! My entry is on page 406 and this is filled with crazy-talented illustrators from around the globe. The objective of this directory is to get illustrators seen by the publishers or anyone who hires freelancers. I would like to get my work published as book covers but I know I have a lot of work ahead of me to achieve that goal. Since I also work full-time it will be a fun challenge for me. If you’re in the same boat, the hardest part is planning out time to do your own projects after spending 8-9 hours doing the same for the day job. It’s going to be a tough road, but I am willing to work for it.
Over the years, I have come across many people who may not know what to do when hiring their first freelancer. I thought I’d give a quick list of what you should do when you are in need of creative services. When hiring a freelance Illustrator or Designer, it’s important to inquire about their services in the CORRECT way.
I’m taking a break from Elsa. She’s hard for me to do right now and I don’t have lots of time from now until the next con. I have to think more on how I can make it stand out from the rest of the Elsa pieces. Soooooo, I’m hoping to have this Wonder Woman done by the end of the week, finish up another piece and maybe get back to Elsa. Enjoy!
This is the first of many progress shots of my version of Elsa. The whole piece may change, but I’ll see where this takes me. Everyone else is doing Frozen, so why not? 😛 This piece will actually open up another Disney series I have in mind. Not saying what it is yet… stay tuned.
It’s time to flex my creative and professional muscles this season. If you are published and looking for a book cover artist or just looking to have a portrait done for friends & family members, please send portrait requests to email@example.com
Serious Inquiries only. Please visit the Commissions page for more info and fill out the form. My past blog posts are examples of where I excel.
With Convention Season looming, I felt like adding more sci-fi inspired artwork to my portfolio. Every weekend is going to be really busy for the next few months. It’ll be fun to hibernate with work until the summer. I would also say that I can’t take commissions at the moment but that area has been pretty slow so far. 😛 It’s okay, since the free time gives me time to develop my style and technique.
