Thank you all for making this year awesome! I need to make more work for 2018. 😜 It was a big year with new beginnings and I’m SO happy that I returned to Baltimore Comic Con. I hope that I can return to BCC as a vendor next year.
Welp, last week I was let go from my full-time job. I’ll give you a little hint of what I did: I was in charge of production at an independent comic book company. I was let go because my former company needed to make some budget cuts, so my position was eliminated. I’m okay now… at first I was of course upset that I was let go unexpectedly. Especially since I was never written up for anything. Gotta love at-will employment. 😆
It was that time again! I went to the Great Philadelphia Comic Con on Sunday 4/9 and met up with lots of friends and bought new goodies. This year I did not exhibit, so I will not be doing a review of my experience. All I can say is that this Philadelphia-area convention is growing fast!
I’m so glad I started watching Westworld on HBO. It definitely reignited a desire for creativity. I am so glad that this and my last commission helped me get out of my artistic slump. I made this on the Procreate App as a study/art therapy. I have a few more favorite characters from the show to try out!
The Olympics have come and gone! So sad I won’t be seeing anymore gymnastics on TV for a while, so I made a portrait study of Gabby Douglas on the procreate app. 😃 from Instagram: http://ift.tt/2blm04i
Hello all! I am finally ready for this weekend’s Awesome Con! You can find me in Artist Alley at Table i-8 with some new work. I will be selling prints and drawing commissions for fans! I love this convention because I see my DC area friends again. Hope to see everyone soon!
The ArtVsArtist hashtag is currently trending on social media so I decided to put myself put there. 😉 I’ve been told that I don’t “look like an artist” so this is a great way for me to gain more confidence & shrug off the silly comments. Post your ArtVsArtist in the comments!
The Atlantic City Boardwalk Con took place this past weekend on May 13th – May 15th. I went with my hubby on Sunday to have some geeky fun! I didn’t have a table so I enjoyed walking around the show floor. We picked up two adorable shirts from Tee Turtle. They really fit our favorite hobby. I had lots of fun talking to creators like Pat Shand, Sorah Suhng and Mike Capprotti. Artist’s Alley is always my favorite place at comic conventions because I end up making new friends! Here are some photos I managed to get while I was there.
Now, I have to get ready for Awesome Con! See you all soon! 🙂
The work above is currently available at The Great Philadelphia Comic Con. Today is the final day of the event and I’ll be set up at table D11, right behind Amber Davis Art. More artwork will be coming up for Awesome Con!
